Position Overview

Five Q is dedicated to supporting ministries in expanding their digital presence, with a particular focus on preaching and teaching ministries.

Seeking a senior front-end specialist to design and develop elegant, responsive web pages with sophisticated animations and mobile-first performance. Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities with minimal hand-holding, and initiative are critical.

This role is initially for a specific project, with potential opportunities for additional projects in the future.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create world-class web pages for classical education brand
  • Implement responsive front-end with exceptional mobile experience (70% mobile traffic)
  • Build homepage and core conversion pages with performance optimization
  • Create details such as micro-animations by default

Qualifications

Skills Required

  • Expert-level modern CSS/JavaScript and responsive design
  • Performance optimization expertise (Core Web Vitals, mobile-first)
  • Portfolio demonstrating sophisticated, elegant web design
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI coding and prototyping tools

Nice to Have Skills

  • Astro static site generation experience
  • Educational or nonprofit sector work
  • Classical/traditional aesthetic sensibility
  • Kirby CMS experience
  • Javascript experience
  • Algolia search integration

Project Requirements

Working Style: must be self-directed and initiative-taking. We have tight coordination but need people who can own their domains completely.

Communication: Regular collaboration with technical PM and coordination with 1-3 other team members contractors.

Compensation: Open to either hourly rates for qualified candidates OR fixed-fee arrangements for well-defined feature sets. Looking for senior-level expertise with appropriate rates.
