Legacy is built by intentional living every day
Legacy can be thought of in three different ways; personal life, family life, and professional career Chad shares two exercises to help you think about legacy.
1. Start with the end in mind
For this exercise think ahead to your funeral and ask “what do I want people to say about me at my funeral?” actually write this down and make notes. This list should include items that are important to you now, as well as those you want to be important even if they aren’t right now. Once you have your list, go item by item and ask, “Can people say this about me now?” if the answer is no, then you have identified an opportunity to be more intentional about building your legacy. This is an activity that is worth going through every year.
2. The age game
Ask yourself, what do I want my life to look like in 2 years, 5 years, 10 years, 20 years, and 30 years. Then also write down your age and the ages of each of your children at each of these intervals. Simply answering what do I want my life to look like, and what do I need to change to get there.
Your ministry and your legacy flow out of who you are, be sure to listen to the full episode to hear the practical tips that Chad offers on how to take this legacy framework and apply it to be intentional about building your legacy in your personal life, family life, and within your ministry.
