Position Overview

Five Q is dedicated to supporting ministries in expanding their digital presence, with a particular focus on preaching and teaching ministries. We're looking for a contract front-end developer experienced with Kirby CMS and PHP to help us build custom plugins and enhance client websites. Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities with minimal hand-holding, and initiative are critical.

This role is initially for a specific project, with potential opportunities for additional projects in the future.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and customize Kirby CMS plugins, primarily:
    • A custom persistent popout HTML5 audio player with event tracking 
    • A dynamic search experience powered by Algolia.
  • Write  PHP code independently, solving most technical issues autonomously.
  • Experience with TailwindCSS and Vue.js
  • Implement front-end designs that are visually appealing and user-friendly (a polished, professional look).
  • Communicate with our team via Slack, Teamwork for messages, async video tools like loom, and occasional Zoom calls.

Qualifications

Skills Required

  • Proficient in Kirby CMS and PHP.
  • Extensive experience building responsive and interactive front-end features.
  • Experience with Algolia or similar search platforms is preferred.
  • Capable of troubleshooting and resolving technical issues independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and exceptional attention to detail in UX/UI to proactively engage clients, ask strategic questions, and translate their vision into actionable development tasks, delivering an outstanding user experience.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients on video calls and messages, ask insightful questions, and translate their vision into actionable development tasks is preferred.

This is a contractor position focused on delivering functionality based on semi-defined requirements, requiring you to proactively clarify client needs with our team, ask insightful questions, propose solutions, and independently execute with minimal guidance. 

Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and initiative are critical.
